Manager - Software Application Specialists
About the role
The Software Application Specialist Manager at Motorola Solutions leads a team of Application Specialists and oversees deployment processes for public safety and command center software within complex ecosystems. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, project management, and people management skills to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of software applications.
Responsibilities
Information Gathering and Discovery: Conduct operational assessments, business process reviews, and other discovery events to understand customer's current business processes. Interview subject matter experts and document findings.
Analytical Evaluation and Recommendations: Evaluate existing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend Motorola’s software solutions to optimize operational efficiency.
Business Process Reengineering: Facilitate reengineering initiatives by analyzing workflows and recommending changes. Lead workshops and discussions to develop new processes aligned with organizational objectives.
Training Development and Orientation: Design, develop, and deliver training curriculum and instructional materials to ensure user engagement and competency. Guide customers through training sessions.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Facilitation: Define, coordinate, and lead UAT processes, ensuring customer requirements are met and documenting results. Measure outcomes to gauge project success and areas for improvement.
Internal Liaison and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between technical resources, engineers, and project managers. Collaborate with internal teams to adapt Motorola’s COTS software to specific client use cases.
Project Management Support: Partner with Project Managers and Program Directors throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of software solutions while adhering to scope and budget constraints.
Stakeholder Communication: Present analysis results and project updates to stakeholders, developing clear and informative presentations to support decision-making and facilitate project buy-in from customer leadership.
Requirements
High School diploma, Associates, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Project Management, or 3 years of experience in a Public Safety IT environment.
3 years of experience as a People Manager.
Ability to obtain a background clearance as required by government customers.
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Experience with public safety software systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Target Base Salary Range: $100,000-$110,000 USD.
