About the role
The Manager, Social Art Director will lead the ideation and execution of highly creative, brand-right social content for Starface. Reporting to the Director, Social & Content, this role involves managing and supporting a Social Media Coordinator, and pushing Starface's social presence forward across various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Ideate and manage the execution of social content across owned organic, paid, and retail channels.
- Create content that reaches new audiences, builds loyalty, and drives positive sentiment.
- Evolve Starface's creative approach across existing platforms and emerging channels.
- Maintain Starface's brand integrity while pushing the creative boundaries of social content.
- Manage, mentor, and support one direct report.
- Source, brief, contract, and manage creators from start to finish.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and translate marketing briefs into social-first creative ideas.
- Balanced output between quantity and quality of social creative.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in social media, preferably with a creative or art direction background.
- Experience managing at least one direct report.
- Deeply online understanding of cultural trends, especially among Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
- Strong ability to think beyond trends and understand platform behavior.
- Experience working with creators and writing strong briefs.
- Ability to balance big creative thinking with execution and follow-through.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort with selling ideas and navigating feedback.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to distinguish between perfection and quick execution.
- Excitement for new platforms and creative approaches.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a related field.
- Proven track record of successful social media campaigns.
- Experience with social media analytics tools.
- Understanding of SEO and its impact on social media strategy.
- Knowledge of social media advertising platforms.
