Essential Job Duties
- Manage all operations within the SAIL center, lead the execution of surgical innovation and simulation projects as assigned by surgical leadership, and provide direct oversight and management of all Simulation Center employees and interns.
- Design and implement educational programs for all staff and continuing education through simulation in partnership with clinical and operational leaders.
- Provides clinical expertise to the simulation process by assisting in role playing applications, props placement, creation of sim scenarios, and moulage set-up to create a virtual healthcare setting.
- Serve as a representative of SAIL and AAMC to external parties by providing services such as staff and provider recruitment support, tours, community events, and donor activities in collaboration with the LH Foundation.
- Engage the current Medical Staff, Patient Care Services, Clinical Education and other departments, as it pertains to programmatic opportunities and growth for innovation and advanced training within the Health System.
- Tracks and routinely disseminate all simulation metrics for the center, tracks revenue cycle activities related to third-party vendors, and coordinate activities related to simulation accreditations, as relevant.
- Care for the inventory of supplies and equipment as needed for simulation and the innovation suite, with support from the simulation technician.
- Provide subject matter expertise input to research and industry proposals and partner to facilitate revenue producing relationships with industry.
- Lead the creation of and approval process for the Simulation Center operating budgets and capital budget.
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies, including capacity and throughput management, resource allocation and budget related to the operations of the Simulation Center.
- Provide hands-on simulation support, mannequin operation, cadaver coordination, and AV/technical support for surgery education events, CME/CEU events, and video conferencing events.
Requirements
- Masters in a related field of study and/or endeavor preferred.
- 5 years of clinical education experience.
- Working knowledge and experience with simulation centers.
