Manager Show Site Operations

About the role

The Manager – Show Site Operations leads a team of on-site project managers and coordinators. This position supports the Audio Visual and Event Technology team.

Responsibilities

• Proactively seeks out information on production requirements for all assigned events to increase advance planning and proper resource allocation
• Delegates responsibilities and supervises the work of direct reports, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
• Promotes a collaborative and results-driven atmosphere within the team that drives optimum performance
• Partners with cross-divisional teams to support recruiting, training, and staffing of necessary positions
• Reviews operational procedures and makes recommendations for improvements to enhance operational efficiencies
• Ensures best practices including safety requirements are followed in the final project plans for all projects in assigned area or region
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required
• Working knowledge of project management principles
• Minimum 3 years of show operations experience
• Show site leadership role experience preferred
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience
• Working knowledge of Audio, Video, Lighting, Rigging and Scenic technical requirements
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills and strategic thinking with the ability to flourish in a matrix organization
• Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations successfully and timely
• Understanding of business implications of decisions; working knowledge of competition
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively to multiple audiences internally and externally; proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers at all levels
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to make decisions based on computer-generated reports
• Generate electronic reports
• Must be an innovative problem solver with the ability to deal quickly and effectively with issues
• Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and large programs
• Strong analytical, organizational, collaborative, and critical thinking skills required
• Meticulous attention to detail as well as superior organizational and creative thinking skills
• Must have experience juggling multiple clients with competing demands; proven ability to adapt while managing multiple competing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with numerous business teams
• Working knowledge of Workfront preferred
• Travel Requirements: Travel up to 25%

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of show operations experience, Show site leadership role experience preferred, Minimum two years of supervisory experience
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of project management principles, Working knowledge of Audio, Video, Lighting, Rigging and Scenic technical requirements
