Manager, SEO/GEO Technology

This position leads a team focused on implementing technical SEO optimizations through partnership with product managers, Engineering, Data Science, Merchandising, and other external partners. The manager provides thought leadership and works to implement capabilities that advance SEO systems and practices within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership (20%) – Manage direct or indirect reporting relationships to ensure assigned resources are adequately trained and performing at the required level. Guide and direct associated resources to meet project deliverables.
  • Manage SEO workstreams (40%) – Oversee SEO-related workstreams across enterprise-level projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within expectations.
  • Project Management (15%) – Outline project goals, dependencies, resources, and risks. Establish business cases supporting new projects with projected benefits.
  • Training and Development (25%) – Establish processes, conduct training, and share knowledge to maintain newly delivered capabilities. Research and stay ahead of industry changes to expand technical SEO capabilities.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce or search engine optimization (SEO) with a proven track record of driving results.
  • Prior experience with enterprise-level SEO, preferably in an ecommerce environment.
  • Experience with enterprise-level SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Lumar, BrightEdge).
  • Experience managing others—directly or indirectly.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to develop team resources, build cross-functional partnerships, and explain SEO concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • 5+ years of previous leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint).
  • Ability to convey complex or technical ideas in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Schedule

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Working Conditions

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area; unpleasant conditions are infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting with frequent opportunity to move; occasional need to move or lift light articles.

This position typically reports to the Sr. Manager of SEO Technology and has 3 direct reports.
