Manager, Security Operations
About the Role
The Manager, Security Operations is an experienced security professional who effectively manages teams to protect Fidelity’s associates, customers, and property. This individual delivers on Global Security Operations’ objectives through strong communication, understanding of site-specific risk landscapes, and execution of key initiatives while exercising sound judgment. As an associate-facing Brand Ambassador for Global Security Operations, this role ensures the team demonstrates professionalism and provides exceptional customer service.
- Leads a team of security representatives and supervisors at a single location
- Creates and maintains schedules to ensure coverage while managing staffing costs and overtime
- Enforces corporate and site-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to operational, physical, and technical security management
- May require a flexible working schedule depending on operational needs
- Establishes and maintains relationships with business unit personnel, site leadership, and external service providers (e.g., public safety agencies) to influence security policy implementation and mitigate risk
- Translates strategic organizational objectives and champions training and life safety programs for their site
- Engages in cross-organizational projects and scales global initiatives for the site
- Builds, implements, and maintains regional crisis response plans in collaboration with site leadership
- Delivers local awareness programs and supports broader global security awareness initiatives to educate associates on workplace safety and security best practices
- Reviews regional incident reports and recommends and tracks required follow-up actions
Requirements
- Associate degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree a plus)
- 5-7 years of experience in an operational and technical security environment
- Prior experience in a people manager role
- EMT or other relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, CFE, CBCP) a plus
- Knowledge of security principles, including incident management, life safety, investigations, workplace violence, and threat assessment
- Experience with security technology
- Project management (beginner level)
- Understanding of risk and controls
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills (effective communication with senior security leadership, site/business unit leadership, business partners, and public safety agencies)
- Vendor management experience (holds vendors accountable to agreed-upon terms and manages budget constraints)
Schedule
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout. Some roles and locations currently require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations may evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $66,000–$125,000 USD per year. Placement in the range varies based on job responsibilities, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is part of the total compensation package, which may also include bonus or other variable compensation for eligible roles.
