Manager, Risks Data & Analytics - Hybrid
Overview
The Enterprise Payments Governance and Oversight team is seeking a dynamic Manager who will play a pivotal role defining and implementing the future of payments governance and oversight for the enterprise.
Role
In this exciting role, you will work closely with key stakeholders across the company to ensure we have a dynamic and well-managed payments ecosystem. This role has a high level of exposure across the lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to shape and deliver a payments governance strategy and implement critical initiatives tied to the priorities of the Enterprise Payments organization. You will work with smart, talented people who will challenge you to excel.
The Person
- Data-Driven Innovator: You possess a sophisticated analytical background and a passion for utilizing Generative AI, intelligent agents, enterprise tools like Google Workplace Studio, Jira / Google AppSheets to drive automation that eliminates manual risk routines. You are highly skilled at translating dense, technical, or complex data into compelling, clear narratives that bring risk trends to life across distinct stakeholder groups.
- Influential Connector: You possess exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups. You know how to command a room and present data-backed recommendations that successfully drive documented consensus and champion change.
- Risk Process Expert: You bring a background in financial services operational risk management frameworks, having previously worked on process re-engineering efforts. You have awareness of risk frameworks like Issues & Event Management, Risk & Controls (RCSA), or Cybersecurity/Technology Data.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or military experience
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management, audit, or governance
- At least 5 years of experience in banking or financial services
- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- At least 1 year of experience with data management and reporting
- At least 2 years of project management or process management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 4 years of experience in risk management, audit, or governance
- At least 2 years of experience with data management and reporting
- At least 6 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- At least 3 years of project management or process management experience
- At least 3 years of experience working in payments
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) certification

The Enterprise Payments Governance and Oversight team is seeking a dynamic Manager who will play a pivotal role defining and implementing the future of payments governance and oversight for the enterprise. The Enterprise Payments Governance and Oversight team sits within the Enterprise Payments organization in the Retail Bank. The team is responsible for the governance and oversight of end-to-end core payments functions for all payment types across the enterprise, including monitoring. In this role, you will be at the forefront of payments, developing solutions to remediate some of the biggest payments-related challenges while also seeking opportunities to further enhance existing business-as-usual practices.
Location
Location: West Creek 5 (Richmond, VA) or Center 2 (McLean, VA), this role is Hybrid, where you will be expected spend about half of your working time in office and half working virtually
Salary Range
McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Risk Manager Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
Performance Based Incentive Compensation
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
