About the role

The Retail Strategy & Analytics team serves as the internal management consulting organization for Schwab’s Retail business, the company’s largest segment. The team partners with senior leaders to solve complex strategic, operational, and analytical challenges, shaping the future direction of the Retail organization. This role sits within the Retail Strategy function, focusing on growth strategy, market assessments, competitive analysis, operating model design, organizational effectiveness, M&A evaluations, and enterprise transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-priority strategy projects and critical business initiatives from inception through implementation planning.
  • Frame complex business challenges and develop fact-based strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct and oversee rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, and business performance data to inform decision-making.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations and storytelling that influence leadership decisions.
  • Build partnerships and alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coach and provide guidance on analytical workstreams and project deliverables.
  • Translate ambiguity into structured, actionable plans that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on strategic priorities and organizational decisions.
  • Leverage AI and productivity tools to enhance research, analysis, and deliverable quality.

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
  • 3-6 years of full-time experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, financial services, investment banking, or a related strategic business function.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting complex strategic problem-solving initiatives.
  • Experience framing business questions, developing hypotheses, and creating strategic recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Experience developing and delivering executive-ready presentations and communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience utilizing AI and productivity tools to improve efficiency, research, analysis, and deliverable quality.
  • Strong interest in financial services and alignment with Schwab's values and client-first culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience within management consulting, corporate strategy, financial services, wealth management, banking, or capital markets.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and investment concepts.
  • Experience presenting directly to executive leadership teams.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or reviewing the work of others.
  • Knowledge of operating model design, growth strategy, market assessments, or organizational transformation initiatives.
