About the role

This role leads a team central to critical transmission planning and interconnection activities impacting grid reliability, market efficiency, and new energy resource integration.

Responsibilities

  • Execute generator modification, retirement, and HVDC studies aligned with MISO Tariff and BPM requirements
  • Ensure accurate, defensible study results while driving on-time milestone delivery
  • Develop, validate, and maintain power flow, short circuit, stability, and deliverability models
  • Oversee data quality initiatives and automated validation processes
  • Collaborate with Transmission Owners, Interconnection Customers, and internal teams to validate assumptions, resolve data issues, and ensure study readiness
  • Lead cross-functional coordination between engineering, modeling, and automation teams
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance throughput, reduce cycle times, and improve customer experience
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing technical team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • At least 5 years of technical energy industry experience
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience

  • Technical expertise in transmission planning and power system analysis
  • A passion for developing people and solving complex grid challenges

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry standards

Benefits

The base salary compensation range for this role is $166,000 - $191,000 USD annually. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. Additional benefits include:

Pay

The base salary compensation range for this role is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation.
