Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited physical or occupational therapy program.
- Current licensure in the applicable state.
- CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
- Follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the overall quality of services and assume responsibility for staying informed about changes in policies and procedures.
- Manage daily operations and ensure efficient utilization of resources to meet customer needs and budgetary expectations.
- Work cooperatively with other managers and clinical directors to assist with the operation of the Physical/Occupational Therapy department.
- Understand budgeted expectations and use reasonable resources to achieve them.
- Manage and facilitate staff growth, including hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff.
- Complete and submit 100% of performance evaluations by the due date.
- Manage and improve processes to optimize quality and efficiency of services.
- Lead the development of evidence-based guidelines and guide the systematic collection and reporting of quality outcome measures to advance the quality of care provided.
- Provide patient care assessment and treatment, demonstrating sound professional judgment in interpreting evaluation results and establishing realistic treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all internal and external professional and regulatory agency standards.
- Promote professional development and education of other healthcare workers and provide committee representation.
- Communicate effectively with the Clinical Director, patients, physicians, staff, and external customers in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide appropriate patient care in accordance with age and developmental guidelines, demonstrating specific knowledge, skills, and abilities for the patients served.
- Utilize knowledge of age and developmentally specific data when assessing patients and interpreting responses to treatment accurately.
- Maintain competence related to age and developmentally specific patient care by regularly updating knowledge of growth, development, and the aging process.
