About the role
This position is responsible for meeting sales objectives in the assigned Rockies region. The Regional Sales Manager will direct and coordinate sales activity with distributors, develop project-specific sales strategies, and communicate project requirements to the company’s manufacturing operations, construction divisions, and management team.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales objectives for the assigned region.
- Initiate regional sales calls and training seminars with area distributors and representatives.
- Develop project and customer-specific sales and profitability strategies.
- Instruct distributors, representatives, contractors, and customers concerning product applications.
- Communicate and coordinate with management and Regional Sales Manager counterparts regarding cross-region project sales activity requirements.
- Visit customer facilities and/or construction jobsites to monitor project progress and customer satisfaction.
- Target new customers, new applications, and follow-on sales leads.
- Provide regional reporting on target projects, representative/distributor effectiveness, updated market outlook for forecasting, and distributor/representative contract management.
- Investigate product complaints and assist customers and distributors in finding satisfactory solutions to sales and service problems.
- Remain current on competitive activities, including product lines, pricing, services, and market penetration; report findings to management.
- Participate in trade shows.
- Maintain tracking of sales leads and opportunities in CRM.
- Responsible for Business Unit contract negotiation and customer NDAs in the designated region.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience.
- 5-10 years of industrial sales management experience calling on oil & gas customers.
- Ability to work independently in a home-based office.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to provide group presentations in a seminar environment.
- Domestic travel is required.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid US driver's license and safe driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical knowledge and/or experience with FRP composites and FRP composite tanks used in oil & gas applications.
- Experience managing distributors.
