About the Role

The Ready Plant Manager will manage an assigned territory of the ready mix organization, including supervision of drivers, scheduling of driver and plant personnel with dispatch, coordination of job sites, management of plant operations, and management of raw materials.

Responsibilities

• Exercise discretion and good judgment in supervising the hourly workforce, including hiring, directing, training, counseling, and disciplining (e.g., suspension or discharge for serious rule infractions or poor performance)
• Conduct hourly employee performance reviews
• Maintain plant housekeeping, environmental, and safety policies to comply with Company, State, and Local governing rules
• Control and minimize plant costs while providing a consistent quality product
• Measure raw material inventories and order/maintain inventory levels sufficient for ongoing batch plant operations
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of automated batch plant operation, including Ginco batch interface and optimization of control parameters for accurate material inventories
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of equipment as needed

Requirements

• Ability to climb conveyor belts for maintenance
• D.O.T. certification to manufacture concrete and concrete products
• Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent; some technical, vocational, or additional education preferred
• 3+ years of experience in plant production-related responsibilities
• Working knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations
• Willingness to relocate domestically

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and outdoor work environments
• Must wear protective equipment while on-site

Physical Requirements

• Requires frequent walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing
• Occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force
• Job involves sitting most of the time but also requires walking or standing for brief periods
• Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with employees/visitors and function safely around heavy rolling equipment
• Ability to perform all job functions, including pushing, turning, and/or pulling controls
