About the Role
This enterprise role, located in Saint Louis, MO, offers a challenging opportunity to expand leadership and quality systems knowledge. The ideal candidate will engage with all functions and sites to improve the Watlow Business System. This position provides leadership in implementing quality business systems, training systems, and manufacturing processes across the enterprise, supporting Watlow’s Semiconductor, Energy and Environmental Technology, and Thermal Systems business units. The role requires strong linkage to Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory initiatives and involves designing, improving, and implementing new business systems to support a common standard across all sites. You will lead root cause analysis and improvement efforts to ensure customer and Watlow quality standards are met, while contributing to the Quality Leadership Team’s vision for 2023.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach team members, including New Product Development Quality Engineers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for quality skills such as APQP, PPAP, Copy Exact, POR, and complex quality tools.
- Formulate and implement quality control policies and procedures.
- Improve products or processes impacting one or more technical areas or multiple manufacturing locations by researching new and existing business and quality systems.
- Implement and train teams on the best solutions for business and quality systems to address business and customer needs.
- Coach teams on cause chains, 5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams, 8D, RCCA, A3 systems thinking, creative problem solving, and trade-off curve development.
- Serve as a member of the Quality Leadership Team, leading and supporting enterprise projects.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a specialized field or a bachelor’s degree with related experience.
- Expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP, PQP, CRAM’s, POR, and Copy Exact methodologies.
- Strong data management skills, including proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and Sequel Server databases.
Skills
- Strong team player advocating for safe, quality-based, and sensible team solutions.
- Experience in semiconductor, medical, nuclear, or automotive industries.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification highly desired.
- Mastery of advanced systematic, creative, and lean problem-solving tools.
