About the role
The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor based in Southern California near Los Angeles International Airport, is seeking a Manager of Quality Systems to oversee organizational compliance with AS9100D for Marvin Engineering (MEC). The role involves managing controlled documents, supporting Business Management System improvements, leading audit readiness, and serving as the primary liaison for AS9100 compliance activities. The position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and executive sponsorship to drive organizational improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the control, approval, and communication of AS9100D-governed documents (e.g., MEC SIPOCs, Work Instructions, Standard Practices, Forms, Training References) and ensure their accessibility via the company SharePoint portal.
- Support organizational functions in improving and maintaining compliance to Marvin’s Quality Management System by collaborating, advising, recommending, and facilitating Business Management System (BMS) process improvements.
- Lead and support organizational readiness for internal, external, and Certifying Body audits, including annual surveillance and recertification audits; serve as the primary liaison for AS9100 compliance review activities and validate audit results in the OASIS Audit Portal.
- Coordinate all approved communication through the OASIS Feedback Portal, including initiating collaboration meetings and monitoring engagement with the Certifying Body in accordance with AS9108.
- Support the effectiveness of the Corrective Action process through post-CARB validation audits.
- Deliver weekly and monthly reports identifying key areas of quality system focus and required actions to sustain and improve Marvin’s Quality Management System.
- Implement organizational training and knowledge development related to MEC’s Business Management System.
Requirements
- Four-year degree and a minimum of 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance within the aerospace and defense industry.
- AS9100D Lead Assessor Auditor certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Skills
- Ability to conduct cross-functional engagement and acquire executive sponsorship.
- Facilitation and leadership skills in identifying gaps and opportunities to drive organizational improvement.
- Maintain awareness and understanding of published quality systems documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency navigating the OASIS Feedback and Audit Portals.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training.
Pay
Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $120,000 to $150,000

This position is 100% onsite in Inglewood, CA.
