Manager - Quality Engineering

Responsibilities
- Provide Quality leadership and manage QA teams supporting site, customer, and manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate site quality certifications (ISO9001, AS9100) and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain the Site Quality Management Plan to comply with MIL-PRF 38535 requirements.
- Manage customer Failure Analysis requests, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for returns or complaints.
- Coordinate and support customer audits for AVL requirements and handle site visits for quality-related concerns.
- Oversee reliability activities during new product introduction, including qualification planning and MTBF/FIT calculations.
- Support manufacturing through in-process inspections, MRB fault analysis, root cause investigations, CAPA, and awareness training.
- Work with supply-chain on corrective actions for non-conforming materials, first article assessments, and supplier audits.
- Collaborate with process engineering on new process development, documentation, and personnel training.
- Provide factory awareness training for ESD and FOD programs, and certify operators to IPC-610 and J-STD-001 quality requirements.
- Facilitate a continual improvement and learning culture through training and communication of quality initiatives.
- Maintain site Lab Suitability and Quality Management Plan, including QMP maintenance, TRB management, SMD audits, and supplier qualification.
Requirements
- US Person – Proof of US citizenship, permanent residency, or protected individual status required due to export-controlled technology access.
- Four-year degree (preferably Electrical Engineering) or 10+ years of equivalent experience in manufacturing or quality.
- 7+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of managing and supervisory experience.
- Experience developing, training, and mentoring quality and manufacturing personnel.
- Proven experience applying Six Sigma and 8D methodologies for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Experience developing and maintaining a site Quality Management System for ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications.
- Experience managing and partnering with suppliers, including qualification, auditing, and continual improvement.
- Strong understanding of the audit process, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- 25% - 50% travel time.
Physical Requirements
- Regular business hours with 70% sitting, 15% standing, and 15% walking.
- Requires seeing, supervising others, talking, working alone, and working around others.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $91,000 - $247,000, dependent on job location, skills, and experience.
