About the role
The Manager - Internal Maintenance oversees the day-to-day operations and performance management of the hourly Internal Maintenance Team to enhance guest experiences and align with department and company goals.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage daily and on-call schedules.
- Prepare and review scheduling reports and communicate data to leadership.
- Manage labor costs to align with business levels and adjust as necessary.
- Utilize Virtual Roster and UKG to view and update Team Member schedules and attendance.
- Conduct daily inspections to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Correct deficiencies and address issues appropriately.
- Review HotSos/Work Order reports for timely repair completion.
- Open/close shifts, issue/collect keys and radios, and deliver the Daily Serenade.
- Recognize and reward outstanding performance.
- Perform regular property inspections, including Congress and the Pool.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Listen to and resolve Team Member concerns and conflicts.
- Delegate tasks and ensure their timely completion.
- Promote effective communication within the department.
- Train Team Members on department standards, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Ensure Tap Out Procedures are followed.
- Coach, counsel, and issue Progressive Discipline as needed.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage assigned projects and other tasks to completion.
- Conduct 30-60-90 Day Performance Reviews.
- Provide unmatched guest service.
Qualifications
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study preferred.
- 5+ years of managerial experience in hospitality, guest services, customer service, or equivalent experience in public areas or environmental services, preferably in a 4 or 5-star property.
- Union experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a large group of individuals.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete work efficiently.
- Working knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling.
- Working knowledge of software systems used in PAD, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and basic Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with guests and Team Members.
