About the role

The Functional Manager plays a critical role in enabling global Tax & Legal practices by supporting the deployment, adoption, and optimization of Intela as a core tax collaboration and service delivery platform.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with global stakeholders to understand how tax collaboration software is deployed and used across geographies including differences in operating models, regulatory considerations, and maturity levels.
  • Support Business User Testing (BUT) for Intela releases by providing guidance to global stakeholders, associated release reporting, etc.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., copilots, automation, analytics) where appropriate to support testing, documentation, analysis, and preparation of demos and stakeholder materials, in line with firm policies and responsible-AI standards.
  • Participate in Accelerated Discovery calls, contributing service-line and process-level insights to ensure solutions meet business needs while supporting global consistency.
  • Provide detailed functional feedback on new features under development, informed by an understanding of tax delivery models and cross-service-line dependencies.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, well-structured demonstrations and walkthroughs showing how Intela supports tax processes across offerings and geographies.
  • Develop high-quality PowerPoint materials on a range of topics.
  • Provide recommendations on configuration options and approaches based on local tax processes.
  • Act as a day-to-day connector between technology teams and tax stakeholders, ensuring issues, risks, and dependencies are identified and managed proactively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field such as information technology; tax exposure or experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of tax processes across multiple Tax & Legal service lines and market offerings, with experience supporting delivery in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Familiarity with Deloitte or comparable Big 4 Tax & Legal service lines, delivery models, and global operating structures.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to tax collaboration platforms or enterprise tools deployed across multiple geographies, including testing, rollout, and adoption activities.
  • Ability to document tax process flows, assess impacts of new functionality, and communicate implications clearly to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to translate complex tax and technology concepts into clear, practical materials.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a global, deadline-driven environment.
  • AI literacy, including the ability to work effectively with AI-enabled tools and capabilities (e.g., copilots, automation, analytics) to support tax processes, testing, documentation, and stakeholder communications, with an understanding of responsible and compliant use of AI in a professional services environment.
