U.S. Tsubaki Automotive, LLC is an international tier-one supplier of high-speed chain drive systems to the automotive industry. The Production Manager will oversee the Chicopee location's production processes to ensure all safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all resources to promote teamwork, respect, accountability, and continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards, processes, and procedures; collaborate with the EHS Site Lead to enhance existing programs.
  • Maintain and improve Quality standards, processes, and procedures in coordination with Quality and Engineering departments.
  • Align production goals with broader organizational objectives and adapt to changing priorities or unexpected issues.
  • Plan and establish production priorities, monitor production data (department loads, capacities, quantities, delivery dates), and adjust schedules due to equipment failure or operational problems.
  • Ensure on-time delivery to all internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate production activities with supporting departments (engineering, procurement, maintenance, quality control) to optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to correct operational problems and improve production throughput.
  • Create long-range production plans and capital improvement strategies.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff; provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Oversee daily workflow, set priorities across teams, and ensure timelines are met and communicated.
  • Monitor manpower and training plans to maintain area targets.
  • Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement to eliminate problems and reduce costs through training, teamwork, and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with factory rules, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements; support progressive discipline and consistency among supervisory ranks.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead teams to achieve results and cultivate future leaders.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and comply with all company policies, work rules, union agreements, and applicable laws with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in production or manufacturing management, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to meet production targets, improve efficiency, and maintain quality standards.
  • Experience developing and implementing production schedules, managing workflow, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Ability to analyze production metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methods.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards, including OSHA and Quality Management systems (IATF, ISO).
  • Automotive Tier 1 experience highly desired.
  • Experience mentoring and developing team members, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
  • Experience working in a union plant required.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000–$150,000 per year, depending on location, skills, expertise, and experience.
