Manager, Production

Mission

This Position is responsible for the daily production and operations of the Horizons' Soft Shades departments, all shifts. Using Lean manufacturing principles, associate engagement and teaming, drives safety, quality, service and productivity.

Objectives

• Ensure quality, safety and service are maintained within departments/areas.
• Ensure department workloads are monitored and managed.
• Aid in prioritizing workloads to ensure customer service commitments are met.
• Ensure appropriate resources (staff, materials, equipment) to meet production demands.
• Provide technical expertise in departments/areas, including expertise and enforcement of internal controls and workflow processes.
• Meet with Production and Inventory Control to plan department/area workloads.
• Regularly interface with other functional areas such as engineering, customer service, quality, sales, etc. to ensure alignment in servicing internal and external customers.
• Plan, execute and oversee Lean, Quality and Continuous Improvement processes.

Requirements

• Minimum- 2-year/technical degree.
• Five or more years progressive manufacturing experience, including Lean manufacturing.
• Preferred- Five to 10 years first-line supervision in custom consumer product manufacturing, preferably textiles.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes.

• PC skills, including MS Office and various internal reporting systems.
• Ability to manipulate data and formulate conclusions.

• Uses project plan and project schedule methodology.
• Clearly defines and utilizes processes in daily work.
• Knows SFW team structure, roles and responsibilities.
• Integrates process methodology into daily work; Lean, 6S, 8D, Q@S etc.
• Looks for innovative ways to streamline work processes across the division and involves stakeholders.
• Establishes forums to share best practices.
• Uses dept and company scorecard and other metrics.
• Makes measurements of own work to plan and reports out at a micro and macro level.

Pay

The annual base/hourly wage for this position is reasonably expected to be $100,000/year. Factors which may affect starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
