Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily production and rework operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and cost targets
- Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment while promoting a strong safety culture
- Conduct daily production meetings to review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), production output, yield performance, quality concerns, inventory status, staffing, and company updates with production teams and leadership
- Monitor daily staffing levels, manage attendance coverage, and develop contingency plans to support operational continuity
- Cook up and communicate effectively with off-shift leadership teams to ensure smooth operational transitions
- Manage incident investigations, safety alerts, corrective actions, and safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Prepare and present department performance updates during monthly meetings with leadership and team members
- Support workforce management activities, including hiring, onboarding, retention, performance evaluations, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations for hourly team members
- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, crew leaders, and operators to support career growth and succession planning
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports to provide performance feedback, development support, and accountability
- Maintain positive employee relations and promote a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
- Ensure department procedures, work instructions, and compliance documentation are maintained through the internal document control system
- Monitor production specifications, quality samples, and process controls to ensure compliance with customer and engineering requirements
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality and production issues
- Track, maintain, and communicate departmental KPIs and operational performance metrics
- Support production planning activities to align staffing, materials, and operational priorities with production schedules
- Submit and manage Electronic Approvals (EAs) related to invoices, materials, equipment, organizational updates, and operational needs
- Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits (LPA) within assigned production areas
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and employee engagement
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing in a highly automated setting
- 3 to 6+ years of experience leading and managing multiple processes
- Experience with large production lines and floor management
- Experience implementing 5S principles preferred
- Supervisor experience in LGESMI preferred
