About the role
The Hotels organization at Capital One is launching a dedicated Tax and Compliance vertical to ensure regulatory standards are met. Historically, tax requirements were scattered across various teams; now, there is a dedicated team for this purpose.
Responsibilities
- Lead a lean, scrappy pod of engineers to build a scalable, compliant foundation for tax logic.
- Act as the strategic bridge between Legal, Risk, and Engineering, translating complex regulatory advice into a technical roadmap.
- Navigate diverse touchpoints across the organization to ensure back-end systems handle tax logic with precision.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field), Business or Marketing OR Bachelor's degree in any field and 3 years of Product Management experience.

- Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products.

- Strategic Translator: Detail-oriented, parses legal requirements into clear, actionable engineering tasks.
- Back-End Expert: Comfortable working deep in the tech stack, strong grasp of system architecture and logic.
- Ambiguity Navigator: Thrives in undefined spaces, identifies gaps, builds the proper way to do things from scratch.
- Relationship Builder: Manages high-stakes partnerships with Legal and Risk, maintains a strong, focused culture within engineering squad.

Salaries for this role vary by location:
- Mclean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Product Management
- New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100 for Manager, Product Management
- Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000 for Manager, Product Management
