Manager, Product Management (Software)
About the role
Shure is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Product Manager to own the WaveTool application – a key software offering within Shure’s platform product ecosystem. This role is ideal for a product manager who thrives at the intersection of user experience, software development, and professional audio technology. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with meaningful opportunity to shape a product at the core of Shure’s software strategy. The role is hybrid and based in Niles, IL.
Responsibilities
- Define, maintain, and prioritize the WaveTool product backlog, translating customer needs and strategic objectives into clear, actionable user stories and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a near-term product roadmap that balances new device support, new feature delivery, technical debt, and platform integration needs.
- Write detailed product requirements, acceptance criteria, and feature specifications in collaboration with engineering and UX teams.
- Partner closely with software engineering, QA, and UX/design teams throughout the development cycle to ensure on-time, high-quality feature delivery.
- Coordinate with platform, firmware, and hardware product teams to ensure WaveTool integrates seamlessly within the broader Shure ecosystem.
- Engage with marketing and sales stakeholders to support go-to-market planning, product positioning, and customer-facing communications for WaveTool releases.
- Serve as a primary voice of the customer for WaveTool, gathering insights through user research, field testing, support escalations, and direct customer engagement.
- Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark WaveTool against alternative solutions and identify differentiating opportunities.
- Identify, frame, and prioritize key product questions to be answered through data analytics and instrumentation.
- Ensure WaveTool aligns with Shure’s platform strategy, including ShureCloud integration, security standards, and connectivity requirements.
- Support interoperability with third-party systems and contribute to platform-level consistency across the Shure device portfolio.
- Define release criteria and collaborate with QA to ensure WaveTool releases meet Shure’s quality standards.
- Monitor post-launch performance and coordinate rapid response to critical bugs or user experience issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, computer science, engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years managing software applications or SaaS products.
- Demonstrated experience writing product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in an Agile development environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product decisions.
- Proficiency with requirements management, backlog tracking, and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Customer-focused mindset with experience conducting user research and synthesizing customer feedback into product decisions.
- Familiarity with professional audio systems, AV technology, or Shure’s product portfolio.
- Experience with desktop or mobile application product management.
- Understanding of software licensing models, including perpetual, subscription, and AaaS (Application as a Service).
- Exposure to network connectivity, cloud platforms, or device management solutions.
- Experience with data analytics tools and a demonstrated ability to define meaningful product metrics and KPIs.
- Ability to work across global time zones, including occasional early morning or evening collaboration with teams in Asia and Europe.

Pay
The base salary for this position ranges from $103,900 to $176,700 with a midpoint target. This position may also be eligible for an incentive pay program, which varies based on individual and Company performance in the year.
