Manager, Product Design - Platform

As the Manager, Product Design - Platform, you will lead a team of designers, shaping the career paths of your direct reports while partnering with product management, engineering, data, and operations peers to identify and solve key problems. You’ll contribute to the full product design cycle—from research and ideation to execution—and help build a sustainable, best-in-class insurance management platform.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director, Product Design of the Platform team.
• Partner with product management, engineering, data, and operations peers to identify and prioritize key agent problems, their solutions, and the path to implementation.
• Contribute to the full product design cycle—from research and ideation to execution.
• Manage 1-2 designers at various career stages, coaching and mentoring them through their progression.
• Be actively involved in recruiting to grow your direct team and the broader product design team.
• Leverage both quantitative and qualitative data to inform and validate hypotheses.
• Advocate for the user’s voice throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaborative activities to align teams on problem sets and goals.
• Shape and contribute to the development of design systems and processes.
• Develop clear, meaningful artifacts to articulate thoughts and concepts, and communicate them effectively.
• Play a vocal role in growing INSKING’s design culture.

Requirements

• 5+ years crafting engaging user experiences for digital platform and system-focused products.
• At least 1 year mentoring and coaching designers.
• Experience shaping the career paths of designers you manage.
• Enjoyment in sharing knowledge to help others grow.
• Ability to quickly learn user behaviors and needs.
• Appreciation for strategic conversations and deriving solutions from their outcomes.
• Comfort with iterating to find simple solutions.
• Excitement to work in a regulated industry with room for innovation.
