About The Role

As a Fund Accounting Manager, you will lead a team responsible for delivering accurate accounting and reporting services for hedge funds, private equity funds, and other investment products. In this role, you'll oversee financial reporting, mentor and develop team members, collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders, and drive process improvements to ensure operational excellence and exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage professional and clerical staff engaged in fund accounting activities.
  • Provide fund accounting services for hedge funds, private equity funds, and other fund products.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of the funds’ performance to clients in the form of profit and loss reporting and month-end NAVs.
  • Review work of fund accountants and provide technical expertise, including:
    • Daily and Monthly Profit and Loss reporting
    • Monthly Balance Sheet Reviews
    • Monthly NAV Packs and Valuation
  • Provide leadership, training, and coaching to fund accountants on your team.
  • Respond to requests from portfolio managers, auditors, and Global Fund Services management.
  • Be actively involved in projects and process improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years of financial markets accounting experience.
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Strong dispute resolution and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with proven ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with internal control processes.
  • Demonstrated customer service and continuous improvement focus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing, coaching/developing, and motivating team members.
  • Ability to work in a changing, fast-paced work environment.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Knowledge of financial markets securities.
  • Proficiency in PC-based systems including MS Excel.

Skills

  • Experience with hedge fund and private equity accounting.
  • Working knowledge of TNR, Investran, Geneva, and Geneva World Investor.
  • CMA, CPA, or CFA level 1 certification.

Pay

Actual base salary will vary based on relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. The expected base salary for this position in Minnesota is between $70,000 USD to $140,000 USD. Employees in this role may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based on individual and business performance.
