About the Role
The Manager – Poolside Restaurant assists the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the poolside restaurants and food service across the pool decks, including Cabana, Daybed, and bar areas. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, cleanliness, and overall restaurant quality.
- Assist the General Manager in implementing financial objectives related to individual restaurant performance and pool deck food service.
- Ensure safety practices for employees and guests, maintaining proper emergency and safety procedures.
- Assist in conducting safety training and ensuring certifications are current with state law.
- Support hiring, training, and evaluation of team members to meet departmental standards and goals.
- Maintain high standards in food and beverage presentation, sanitation, and pool safety.
- Oversee work assignments and evaluations, recommending personnel actions based on performance.
- Ensure team member engagement and guest service align with company objectives for exceptional service.
- Assist with planning, attending, and participating in mandatory staff meetings and training.
- Support the pool leadership team in supervising and coaching staff to meet and exceed company standards.
- Delegate tasks and projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Focus on achieving departmental goals using available resources (staff and budget).
- Advocate for preventative maintenance and security to protect assets and ensure safety.
- Ensure maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) requirements.
- Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to reduce unnecessary costs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses, including Nevada Gaming Control Board registration, Non-Gaming registration, Health Card, ServSafe certification, Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM), and others as mandated by law or policy.
- 2 years of experience in a food & beverage leadership position; additional experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with guests and team members of diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Must be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift or carry 50 pounds unassisted.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines with internal and external contacts.
- Interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.
- Work in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to environmental factors such as noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
