About the role
We are seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a Tech Lead/Sr. Manager of Platform Engineering. You’ll own Cloud Ops & Infrastructure, platform self-service and tooling, and drive AI innovation with technical direction and rapid prototyping. You’ll play a key role in designing, scaling, and operating the core platform infrastructure that powers the iFIT experience across our user base.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive technical roadmap across platform engineering, ensuring work is sequenced and aligned to leadership priorities
- Make the platform AI-native, investing heavily in modern AI-powered dev workflows
- Own cloud infrastructure at production scale; write and maintain Terraform across our AWS footprint
- Own the CI/CD template layer inherited by all service teams
- Own IAM at scale—maintain and extend roles, policies, and permission boundaries across hundreds of services; automate enforcement, not just review
- Eliminate toil through automation and self-service—build modules and tooling that allow teams to stand up services, manage deployments, and resolve issues without routing through a platform engineer
- Set and uphold expectations for delivery, reliability, and team accountability
- Maintain platform health and delivery outcomes, including ownership of incident response and on-call management
- Ensure platform systems are reliable, scalable, and meeting business needs
Strategy Execution & Planning
- Own platform roadmap and execution plans
- Lead planning cycles and ensure alignment across teams
- Balance new initiatives with operational stability and ongoing work
Organizational Leadership
- Own hiring, performance management, and team development
- Ensure clear ownership and accountability across platform domains
Execution & Delivery
- Track delivery against roadmap commitments
- Resolve blockers and manage cross-team dependencies
- Ensure consistent execution across teams
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Partner with AI, Product, Security, IT, and Finance stakeholders
- Communicate priorities, trade-offs, and progress clearly
Operational Oversight
- Ensure uptime, reliability, and incident management standards are met
- Drive consistency in operational practices across teams
- Own incident response and escalation when needed
Financial & Vendor Oversight
- Partner with Finance on cost visibility and budgeting
- Oversee vendor relationships and platform-related spend
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in platform engineering, including DevOps, Infrastructure, Dev Tools etc in production environments
- Expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS EKS, GCP GKE, or Azure AKS) and associated networking, storage, and IAM primitives
- Proficiency in at least one systems or backend language for operator development and infrastructure tooling
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) and Git workflows
- Ability to operate autonomously, make sound technical judgments, and drive projects from concept through production
- Demonstrated experience on platform or infrastructure engineering teams at scale, including ownership of reliability, scalability, and delivery outcomes
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams across Product and Engineering
- Experience developing and automating workflows with AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience managing teams
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including cost management and vendor oversight
- Familiarity with AI/ML platform engineering concepts and working closely with applied AI or data science teams
- Background in data engineering or pipeline infrastructure at scale
- Experience with mobile or IoT-connected platform ecosystems, particularly in consumer hardware or fitness/health tech environments
- Working knowledge of security and compliance requirements within a platform context (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, or similar)
- Experience in Agile or SAFe frameworks, including PI planning facilitation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical trade-offs for executive and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-performing, accountable engineering organizations through hiring, development, and performance management
