About the Role
This functional manager role leads the day-to-day Planning function at the Springville site, supporting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and all associated performance objectives. The role oversees material flow processes, including master scheduling, parts planning, production planning, and production control. It ensures compliance with customer and engineering requirements, maintains a safe work environment, and drives employee development and engagement. The role also champions enterprise leadership mindset behaviors and facilitates process and cultural transformation at the Springville site. Travel is expected to be less than 20%.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Planning team to meet Springville business objectives.
- Establish and maintain effective team communication and performance management processes for daily visibility, standard work confirmation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Direct production planning, materials, capacity, and scheduling requirements using sales forecasts to optimize inventory levels through SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning).
- Develop a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to minimize inventory and maintain material flow, including transaction history management, reorder strategies, and safety stock.
- Lead projects to improve inventory levels, on-time delivery (OTD), and past-due metrics.
- Engage strategically with sales and commercial operations to maintain market lead times by forecasting inventory and managing capacity.
- Create and prioritize production schedules for optimization of capacity, productivity, OTD, and customer expectations.
- Maintain planning BOMs (Bill of Materials) in the ERP system.
- Use data analytics to support planning and operations teams in KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Monitor and manage obsolete and excess inventories.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration within materials teams and across the facility.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or a business-related field. For internal Flowserve candidates, ten years of planning leadership experience in an engineered manufacturing business may substitute for a degree.
- Strong root cause problem-solving and analytical skills using frameworks like DMAIC, with a demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and sustainable improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with business systems such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning).
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and public speaking).
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, understand, and lead others.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
- CPIM (Certification in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
- Proficiency in PowerBI and Oracle.
- Experience in the engineered-to-order (ETO) industry.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
