About the role

The Pharmacy Technician Manager works collaboratively with the Pharmacy Management Team to train Pharmacy staff on department processes, policies, and protocols. They conduct ongoing assessments and performance evaluations, maintain up-to-date knowledge of workflow processes, and collaborate with the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator to schedule residents, students, and interns.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing assessment and performance evaluations of staff
  • Work with the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to achieve departmental and hospital goals
  • Maintain knowledge of workflow processes and update policies, procedures, and job descriptions as needed
  • Schedule Pharmacy Residents, Students, and Interns with the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator
  • Compile reports and complete projects as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy and/or Pharmacy Operations Manager
  • Be the Automated Dispensing Cabinet Meeting Chair and participate in other meetings
  • Provide in-services as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy and/or Pharmacy Operations Manager
  • Maintain oversight of Automated Dispensing Cabinets, WiFi temperature monitoring system, pharmacy systems databases, strategic performance management of pharmacy-related events, billing reconciliation with the Finance Department, and seek to collaborate updates, downtimes, and implementations as necessary
  • Responsible for Annual Performance Appraisals for Inpatient Pharmacy Messengers, Technicians, and Pharmacy Interns

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program recognized by the California State Board of Pharmacy
  • California Pharmacy Technician Licensure in good standing
  • National certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Specific knowledge and understanding of mathematical and technical techniques
  • Evidence of continuous professional training in related fields
  • Advanced knowledge in Pharmacy related technology (Automated Dispensing Cabinets, Pharmacy Software Applications, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Management skills, knowledge of policies governing the use of Controlled Substances, and ability to work in a team environment

Required Skills
