About The Role
As a Payroll Connections Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of Payroll Connection Specialists responsible for driving efficiency, velocity, and enabling payroll connections for our clients. You will be accountable for hitting key performance metrics, identifying and solving operational blockers, and leading your team to consistently enable a high volume of payroll connection while delivering an exceptional customer experience. What You Get To Do Every Day
- Lead and mentor a team of Payroll Connection Specialists to help them achieve both individual career growth and business objectives.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for the Payroll Integrations team, stepping in to resolve complex blockers for individual team members.
- Define team goals, key results (OKRs), and performance metrics to continuously drive productivity and quality.
- Refine existing operational workflows to improve efficiency, scale capacity, and support organizational growth.
- Investigate integration issues, identify root causes, and partner cross-functionally to implement long-term solutions.
- Guide clients through establishing technical connections across 400+ payroll providers.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and primary liaison for Payroll Integrations, educating internal and external business partners.
- Partner with stakeholders across Human Interest to streamline and optimize 401(k) contribution processing.
- Champion a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement while fostering a fun, energetic, and collaborative team environment.
What you bring to the role
- 3+ years in a SaaS environment or the retirement industry (experience in payroll or 401(k) contribution processing preferred).
- 1-2+ years of experience in a team lead, supervisory, or direct people management role.
- Proven track record managing high-volume accounts and overseeing complex projects or implementations.
- Previous experience leading a team is a plus.
- Experienced in defining goals, success metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and drive team productivity.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and execute against aggressive targets.
- Skilled at prioritizing competing demands, determining urgency, and executing detailed action plans in a fast-paced, high-growth software environment.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with a track record of effective collaboration across departments and organizational levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for guiding teams, resolving conflicts, and making sound decisions under pressure.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or a related discipline preferred.

Compensation
The base salary for this position spans $85,000 - $90,000 and represents the minimum in our lowest geographic region to a maximum in our highest geographic region. The salary we offer to a new employee within this range is based on their location within the U.S., their relevant job-related skills, and experience. At Human Interest, base salary is one component of the overall total rewards package. Depending on the position, additional compensation components such as bonuses, commissions, and equity may be offered.
