About the role

As the Global Payroll Lead at TouchTunes, you will be accountable for payroll operations across the US, Canada (Quebec), and the UK, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing for approximately 320 employees. This role involves functional ownership of payroll processes, compliance with statutory requirements, and driving process improvements. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders, manage payroll systems, and serve as the subject matter expert for payroll-related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global payroll processes and compliance for employees in the US (approx. 150), Quebec (approx. 140), and the UK (approx. 4).
  • Perform full-cycle payroll management for US employees, including biweekly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, commission payments, bonuses, taxable fringe benefits, wage garnishments, and special payments using Dayforce.
  • Partner with an external payroll provider to manage monthly UK payroll and establish a payroll partnership for Mexico.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for payroll processing in Quebec and the UK, ensuring compliance with local regulations and timely filings.
  • Administer the Time Management system, including policy configuration, timesheet processing, and reporting in Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Act as the technical owner of the Payroll and Time Management (TAFW) modules in Ceridian Dayforce, including configuration and design.
  • Establish and maintain global payroll standards, guidelines, and documentation in compliance with federal, provincial, state, and local laws.
  • Ensure proper taxation and withholding of statutory and voluntary deductions, including maintenance and execution of import files for third-party vendors (e.g., 401k, GL).
  • Oversee the 401(k) and RRSP Retirement Plans, partnering with third-party administrators to maintain compliance and accurate record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Tax teams on general ledger entries, payroll liabilities reconciliation, tax compliance, audit support, and reporting.
  • Provide day-to-day support and issue resolution for payroll, time, and system inquiries, proactively communicating with employees, managers, and HR.
  • Align with the HR Operations team to support onboarding, changes, and offboarding processes using Dayforce and other internal tools.
  • Drive projects and process improvements to enhance data integrity, reporting, system testing, and documentation.
  • Prepare and compile payroll-related reports for financial institutions, government agencies, HR, and Accounting, including Worker’s Compensation insurance reporting.
  • Develop and issue ad-hoc and year-end payroll reports, including W-2s, T4s, RL1s, and UK payroll filings.
  • Stay current on payroll industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities for efficiency.
  • Serve as the payroll subject matter expert for system changes, implementations, and updates.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external tax agencies and payroll vendors, managing communications and resolving inquiries.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience processing payroll, including at least three years of functional ownership.
  • Full-cycle payroll experience with multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional organizations, including administering payroll in the US and Quebec.
  • Expert-level experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM payroll and time modules.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (degree in business, accounting, or a relevant field is a plus).

Qualifications

  • CPP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience with systems integration (e.g., Workday) and conversion is a plus.
  • Fluent bilingualism (written/verbal/oral) in English and French is a plus.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $110,000–$130,000.
