Manager, Operations (Weekend Shift)
Role Overview
The Weekend Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing Cboe's global weekend support function, managing teams in both Chicago, IL and Singapore to deliver continuous, high-availability operational coverage across Cboe's platform portfolio during the weekend window.
Responsibilities
- Weekend Operations Leadership & Team Management: Own and manage the global weekend operations function, providing direct leadership to weekend support staff in Chicago and operational oversight of the Singapore-based weekend team. Define team structure, shift coverage, and staffing requirements to ensure seamless follow-the-sun coverage across the US-to-APAC transition window. Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching, and support the professional development of direct reports and extended team members.
- Incident Management — Weekend Ownership: Own the Incident Management function across the global weekend shift. Lead incident triage, root cause analysis, escalation, and stakeholder communication for all production events affecting Cboe platforms — including Cboe Global Indices, Data Vantage, and Cboe Titanium — during the weekend coverage window. Ensure timely and accurate incident documentation, drive escalation to on-call engineering and senior operations staff as warranted, and complete post-incident records to support root cause analysis and remediation tracking during the following business week.
- Team Development & Capability Expansion: Lead the ongoing development of the weekend support team to take on an increasing scope of responsibilities in alignment with Cboe's expanding 24x7 service offerings. Build team proficiency across the full Data Vantage product suite (e.g., Global Indices, Hanweck, DataShop, Silexx, LiveVol) and Cboe Titanium global trading platforms. Establish training plans and competency milestones that enable the weekend team to provide meaningful trading and market operations support — including capabilities consistent with those defined for the Trade Desk Specialist role — as Cboe's weekend operational requirements grow.
- Exchange & Trading Platform Support: Provide and oversee operational support for Cboe exchange trading platforms, including real-time low-latency markets covering US equities, options, and futures asset classes. Responsibilities include equity listing process management; servicing cancel order requests; conducting and providing rulings for clearly erroneous and obvious error trade reviews; supporting voluntary price adjustments; servicing clearing support requests; overseeing real-time order routing changes; conducting futures settlement price verifications; and monitoring auctions and rotations. Lead the team in developing the depth of expertise required to perform these functions independently across the weekend window.
- System Monitoring & Platform Health — Cboe Global Indices & Data Vantage: Oversee operational monitoring of the Cboe Global Indices platform and the broader Data Vantage suite on a 24x7 basis during the weekend shift. Ensure health checks, audit log reviews, database health monitoring, and batch pipeline oversight are performed consistently by the team. Establish and enforce standards for issue identification, escalation, and resolution across both the Chicago and Singapore teams.
- US–Singapore Hand-Off Coordination: Define, implement, and continuously refine structured hand-off processes between the Chicago and Singapore weekend teams. Ensure that shift transitions — including operational status, open incidents, and outstanding items — are documented and communicated clearly and completely, maintaining continuity of awareness and action across the US-to-APAC and APAC-to-US transition windows.
- Customer Support: Provide and oversee customer and sales support related to platform behavior, data delivery, and feature/functions during the weekend coverage window. Ensure timely and professional outbound communications servicing email support queues and customer phone support to a "Deliver Plus One" standard.
- Platform Change & Weekend Testing: Lead and participate in internal and industry-wide weekend testing activities across both Data Vantage and Titanium platforms — including capacity testing, failover, and BCP/DR tests — which represent a core component of the weekend operations schedule. Liaise with business, technology, and engineering stakeholders to coordinate testing execution and ensure findings are tracked and resolved.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize SQL to conduct data mining against databases, a UNIX shell to examine log files, Sigma dashboards, and Cboe proprietary tools to gather and analyze data, provide reports, and service the needs of customers and business teams. Leverage experience with file transfer processing and cloud technology (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform) as applicable.

Work Schedule
This position operates on a four-day work week aligned to the global weekend coverage window, with two schedule variants available depending on the needs of the team and the schedule of the Chicago-based counterpart:
- Schedule A consists of 8 hours on Thursday, 8 hours on Friday, 12 hours on Saturday, and 12 hours on Sunday
- Schedule B consists of 12 hours on Saturday, 12 hours on Sunday, 8 hours on Monday, and 8 hours on Tuesday
The two schedule variants are designed to offset against one another, ensuring that the Weekend Operations Manager and their Chicago-based counterpart maintain overlapping coverage across the full weekend window while avoiding schedule duplication. Saturday and Sunday are anchor days for both schedules, with the 8-hour bookend days staggered across the Thu/Fri or Mon/Tue window accordingly to provide additional coverage as well as to provide greater opportunity for collaboration and cross-training with the weekday support teams.
Weekend shift hours are specifically structured to provide seamless operational overlap and hand-off coordination with Cboe's Singapore-based weekend team, ensuring continuous platform coverage and incident management ownership across the US-to-APAC transition window.
