Manager, Onboarding
Oversight
The Manager, Onboarding oversees daily operations for the end-to-end pre-hire screening process and the initial onboarding of new employees and contractors into the System. They enforce all processing deadlines, compliance requirements and turnaround times with Onboarding Specialists and vendors.
Background Process
The Manager, Onboarding oversees all elements of the background process ensuring efficient turn around with accurate results relative to job requirements.
New Hire Onboarding
- Schedules and attends new hire Employee Health appointments, ensuring best practice communication and proactive planning to achieve the maximum number of new hires processed per new employee orientation.
- Timely and accurate processing of new hire documents by Onboarding Specialists, ensuring compliance with policy and applicable regulation.
- Validates the list of new employees for each orientation class, ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate.
Reports and Audits
Produces comprehensive reports regarding the daily operations of onboarding activities and services. Conducts regular new hire file audits through sampling of final hire packets to ensure compliance with policies and laws related to employment.
Team Management
Serves as a resource to Hiring Managers and TA Consultants for issues with post-offer requirements. Manages the Onboarding Team in accordance with policies and applicable laws/regulations, monitoring work procedures and expediting workflow, issuing written and oral instruction.
Customer Service
Maintains a strong open relationship with local HR team members and leaders. Manages the onboarding process to meet SLAs and maintains an excellent new hire experience.
Training and Support
Trains team members and supports all new hires in the onboarding process. Appraises work performance; rewards and disciplines staff as appropriate; resolves issues of concern, addressing complaints as appropriate.
Turnover Monitoring
Maintains harmony among employees and resolves issues of concern, addressing complaints as appropriate. Monitors turnover of new hires in process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or combination of experience and education in lieu of degree.
- Eight years experience in a talent acquisition, human resources, staffing, or related department with working knowledge of recruitment processes and onboarding activities.
- Five years of direct internal customer service and support within a Talent Acquisition Onboarding role.
- Five years of managerial experience leading others.
