Manager of Software, DevOps Engineer

About the role

We're seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help build and support scalable, cloud-native trading platforms in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This U.S.-based contract role is ideal for an experienced engineer with expertise in AWS, Platform Engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, Terraform, and observability who enjoys solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• 40% AWS & Infrastructure as Code
• 30% Platform Engineering & CI/CD
• 20% Observability & Production Reliability
• 10% Distributed Systems & Databases

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Cross-platform CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git, Bitbucket)
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven applications
• Spring Framework and messaging technologies (Kafka or ActiveMQ)
• Monitoring, observability, and production support (Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry)
• PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Skills

• Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS
• Microservices architecture
• React exposure
• Financial services or trading systems experience
• Technical leadership and mentoring experience
