About the role

Responsible for operational performance excellence in the South Carolina Market Medical Group. Monitors and enhances performance processes to increase efficiency and implement profitable operational practices. Assists the AVP in promoting consistent operational outcomes, growth, and standards. Focuses on day-to-day operations management, team development, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and assist in people development as needed.
  • Administer established guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities as necessary.
  • Promote teamwork and empower teams and individuals to meet their potential.
  • Support quality and efficiency improvement efforts.
  • Provide positive feedback as well as constructive criticism.
  • Communicate pertinent clinic and departmental activities to employees, administrative reports, and other departments.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of employee morale.
  • Develop personal education to proactively meet the future needs of the department.
  • Project a positive, professional image.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including front and back office staff.
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge of VIA human resource policies, operational and billing policies.
  • Monitor billing procedures to ensure accurate and timely patient registration and billing.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of monthly key indicators (e.g., daily work status, planned work completion, upstream/downstream impact, standard operational work adherence).
  • Oversee purchasing functions for the practice.
  • Ensure office equipment is in working order.
  • Organize meetings and education activities for clinicians and staff.
  • Participate in VIA PC/PM marketing opportunities for practices and programs.
  • Ensure general cleanliness, neatness, and maintenance of the practice.
  • Review current literature and attend training sessions to stay informed of new developments in the field.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational and motivational skills.

  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to summarize financial and statistical information for review.
  • CPT and ICD knowledge preferred.
  • eClinical Works EHR knowledge preferred (or general EHR knowledge).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a clinical-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Preferred 2+ years of primary and/or palliative care experience and at least one year of supervisory experience, or 1 year of leadership/management experience.
