About the role
The Manager of Patient Access oversees the daily operations of various departments including registration, insurance authorizations, central scheduling, front-end collections, mail room, and operators.
Responsibilities
- Authorize and schedule patients for procedures in a timely manner
- Accurately register patients
- Communicate and collect patient financial responsibilities
- Answer and transfer incoming calls
- Train employees
- Implement policy and procedure changes
- Monitor work to ensure quality and service standards are met
- Complete performance appraisals
- Conduct staff meetings
- Implement performance improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience
- 3-5 years of Patient Access experience
- 1-3 years of Supervisor/Manager experience
- EPIC technical expertise
- Hospital-based patient access management experience
- Leadership qualities
