About the role

The Manager of Outpatient Services at Ottumwa Regional Health Center oversees all clinical treatment programs for psychiatric and substance use issues in the outpatient setting. This role ensures high-quality clinical care, integrates clinical functions, supervises family and group counseling, and manages discharge planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assures high quality clinical care is provided and clinical functions are integrated.
  • Supervises family and group counseling and develops, implements, and supervises a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities/processes.
  • Oversees discharge planning to ensure an optimal post IOP / PHP transition.
  • Ensures clinical documentation is current and accurate and meets all regulatory and other standards.
  • Ensures company-approved programs are implemented and provided consistently.
  • Provides oversight to therapists and provides feedback through performance evaluations, supervision, and training.
  • Ensures all interventions (individual, group, and family therapy) are performed and documented according to professional clinical standards.
  • Conducts regular audits on patient charts to ensure compliance with Lifepoint and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Participates actively in survey activities (TJC, Medicare, and licensing).

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work or equivalent experience in the social services needs of patients with psychiatric and substance use issues.
  • Previous experience in outpatient healthcare is required.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles is required.
  • Current unencumbered Clinical Social Work or Counseling License.
  • CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) or Handle with Care (HWC) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient healthcare is required.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles is required.
  • Current unencumbered Clinical Social Work or Counseling License.
  • CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) or Handle with Care (HWC) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
