Key Responsibilities
- Assists with managing and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and industry regulations related to organ quality, including CMS, OPTN/UNOS, and DCIDS policies and procedures.
- Maintains DCIDS licensing, registration, and accreditation as directed.
- Oversees regulatory reporting requirements for organ donors, directly manages staff responsible for organ quality execution, and collaborates with DCIDS leadership to investigate, address, and follow up on events related to regulatory reporting.
- In collaboration with the Director of Quality Improvement, oversees the identification, assessment, investigation, and reporting of potential donor-derived disease transmission events.
- Ensures timely communication with transplant centers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Affords support in identifying, developing and implementing organ quality process improvements aligned with regulatory compliance, departmental and organizational strategic goals.
- Manages and supports the Organ Quality staff, including onboarding, training, and competency assessment.
- Ensures staff understand job expectations and communicates when expectations are not met.
- Performs staff evaluations and development plans.
- Gives timely feedback and completes employee coaching as appropriate.
- Promotes and ensures accurate medical records, data collection and reporting in compliance with applicable regulations, standards and DCIDS policies and procedures.
- Oversees the organ chart review process to identify deficiencies and required corrections.
- Ensures correction assignments are made to the appropriate staff to ensure a comprehensive and complete donor record is secured.
- Oversees organ chart completion and ensures monthly chart metrics and staff goals are met.
- Affords assistance in the development, review and maintenance of policies and procedures for all aspects of the organization’s operations to include data collection and regulatory compliance as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in quality management
- 3-5 years of quality management experience in a healthcare environment
- OPO/Healthcare quality experience preferred
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- ASQ or equivalent quality related certification
Skills
- Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills
- Strong knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office
