Manager of Oncology Services - Veterinary Hospital

About the Role

This is a full-time exempt position. The Oncology Services Manager will be responsible for the leadership and direct management of the Oncology Services Team, which includes the veterinary support staff and the day-to-day department operations at our busy Angell Oncology team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision, staff development, and training
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Quality assurance
  • Fiscal responsibilities
  • Communicate and interact regularly with oncology department personnel to maintain a high level of understanding and involvement in daily operations
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes
  • Provide input to assist in the identification of department training needs and ongoing updating of training and safety checklists and department manuals
  • Meet with staff on a regular basis and participate in hospital manager meetings

Requirements

  • Certified veterinary technician (CVT) through the Massachusetts Veterinary Technician Association (MVTA) or eligible for certification through out-of-state reciprocity
  • Minimum 3 years veterinary practice experience as a veterinary technician required
  • 1 year veterinary oncology experience required
  • Minimum 2 years previous supervisory and customer service experience required

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstration of increased job responsibility and previous supervisory experience

Compensation

This is a salaried position: $80,000-$90,000 a year, with a $5,000 Sign on Bonus for CVTs. Candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications.
