Manager of IT Security (Remote)

About the role

The Manager of IT Security leads a team responsible for protecting the organization's systems and data. This role oversees vulnerability management, incident detection and response, and identity and access management. The position plays a critical part in shaping the security strategy and risk reduction efforts, ensuring a robust security program as the organization continues to grow. This is a remote role open to candidates across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of security engineers and analysts
• Oversee vulnerability management, incident detection and response, and identity and access management
• Drive execution of multi-year security initiatives, adapting to shifting priorities
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and governance
• Evaluate and implement security technologies and controls
• Identify root causes of security issues and lead long-term solutions

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on information security experience across multiple domains
• At least 2 years of team leadership experience in security, including hiring and performance management
• Experience securing both on-premises and cloud environments with understanding of cloud networking
• Ability to communicate security risks effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience contributing to or executing security roadmaps, policies, or programs

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or related field (preferred)
• CISSP or equivalent certification (preferred)
• 8+ years in information security (preferred)
• 5+ years in people management (preferred)

Pay

Salary range between $123,000 and $185,000 depending on experience and location. Bonus eligible.
