Manager of Construction

Wecom Fiber is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage fiber optic construction projects from inception to completion in Prescott, AZ. This role is critical in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of fiber optic construction projects.
  • Lead project teams, including subcontractors, engineers, and field personnel, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Ensure the quality of work meets Wecom Fiber’s standards and industry regulations.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and reports.
  • Resolve issues and conflicts that arise during the construction process in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including design, engineering, and procurement, to streamline project execution.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project progress, challenges, and milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic construction practices and regulations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to travel as required for project oversight and coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus.
  • Experience with fiber optic network design and deployment.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal construction regulations.
