Manager of Business Development
About the role
The Manager of Business Development will develop sales programs and pricing structures for assigned OEM, MRO and partner markets. They will identify new market opportunities for CSI sales growth and expansion, review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develop sales and product strategy to accommodate company goals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and identify opportunities to secure new businesses from OEM and MRO customer base, optimize profit and increase revenues.
- Design and implement new strategies to drive business growth in identified and assigned sales markets.
- Develop portfolio to support strategy while optimizing profitability, margin and expense control.
- Administer entire sales process, identify target customers, push sales and complete sale process to manage OEM/MRO Sales.
- Manage OEM engagements to design strategies to acquire more business deals.
- Identify new markets to widen the market base for enhanced revenue and profit generation.
- Analyze markets to obtain latest trends, customer needs, competitors' position and depth of customer base to redesign marketing strategy.
- Collaborate with engineering team to develop product specifications meeting customer requirements.
- Supervise and provide training to direct reports.
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product.
- Prepare monthly sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.
- Provide input on market trends to help direct product research and development.
- Participate when feasible with teams formed to create continuous improvement efforts in systems and procedures.
Requirements
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Finance, and a Master’s degree is preferred. Five to ten years of related experience and/or training are also required. An unrestricted driver's license and ability to travel using all modes of transportation, including air travel, are necessary. Additional skills include willingness to travel overnight 25% of the time.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, and knowledge of CRM software is preferred.
