About the role
We are seeking an Operations Development Manager who brings a genuine passion for cosmetics and beauty innovation to support NYX Professional Make Up, based in our El Segundo, CA office. As the operational representative with Global Marketing and Product Development teams, you will autonomously oversee the launch of new products. The Operations Development Manager will oversee package development and project management activities to ensure timely and cost-effective new product launches, promotions, and maintenance of basic business activities. Operating in a rapidly changing brand and market, you will champion agility, drive cross-functional alignment, and keep teams firmly on track.
Responsibilities
- Guide Marketing in new product briefs and conception definitions, ensuring design aligns with Agility, Profitability, and L’Oréal For the Future (L4TF) objectives in a fast-evolving market.
- Serve as the primary communication link between Divisional and Industrial teams, ensuring transparent updates, proactive risk communication, and effective escalation to leadership.
- Drive comprehensive cost management and calculations for new product launches—including Cost of Goods (COG) analyses and Value Analysis (VA) support—collaborating closely with plant operations and project teams to optimize financial performance.
- Develop and manage project timelines, identify critical tasks and milestones, and lead risk assessments with Operations and Research & Innovation (R&I) to secure technical backup options and maintain project schedules.
- Lead project review meetings, foster collaborative problem-solving, and drive swift resolution of roadblocks impacting projects.
- Ensure comprehensive execution through the Quality Control Process (QCP), document evolution of product, and communicate to leadership constraints and compromises throughout project lifecycle.
- Manage key evolutions to the brand catalog. Partner with Marketing, Operations, and R&I on harmonization, profitability, and sustainability initiatives, coordinating all required legal and regulatory updates.
- Partner with Marketing to secure aesthetic approvals with a strong Consumer Experience mindset.
- Bring true enthusiasm for the cosmetics and beauty industry, keeping a pulse on emerging consumer trends and product innovations.
- Identify and champion process improvements that drive efficiency, cost reduction, and harmonization among product categories.
- Perform other duties as necessary or required.
Requirements
- A completed Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering/technical discipline is required.
- 5-7+ years of experience in package development, product development, regulatory operations, or project management within the cosmetics or consumer goods industry.
- Experience in cosmetics, consumer goods, or related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate a rapidly changing brand, market, and ambiguous environments with resilience and a proactive mindset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to influence, align, and motivate cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong emotional intelligence (EQ), collaboration, and relationship-building capabilities, paired with solid technical acumen in packaging and project management.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage complex documentation and project details accurately.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, MS Project, ability to learn custom project management and technical specifications systems.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities is required (10–15% of time).
- Authorization to work in the US is required. No visa sponsorship is offered for this role.
- The ability to be onsite, in the office at least 3 days a week, as this is an essential function of the position.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $90,200 - $128,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level).
Schedule
This role requires the ability to be onsite, in the office at least 3 days a week.
