Manager Nursing RN - NICU: Women's COE Administration

Responsibilities

  • Oversees overall operations of a specialty area or unit, including patient care and safety, fiscal performance, staff performance, and productivity.
  • Assists in managing quality improvement or safety initiatives, provides staff education, and ensures staff follow policy and regulatory standards.
  • Develops and modifies procedures to optimize unit operations.
  • Focuses on continual improvement of patient care, outcomes, and harm prevention.
  • May provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Serves as a leader and mentor to staff, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Creates a collaborative environment conducive to sharing ideas and opinions.
  • Develops the vision and goals for the unit in conjunction with the Department Director, cascades those goals to staff, and assists the department in accomplishing them.
  • Requires meetings and rounding outside of normal business hours, including evenings, nights, and/or weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for Nursing Managers at Magnet Facilities; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Five (5) years of acute nursing experience, preferably in the specialty area, and two (2) years of nursing leadership experience.
  • Experience in Kronos, Optilink, and Microsoft Suite preferred.
  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Women’s COE: NRP certification required.
