The Manager of Nursing

Make a Difference
The Manager of Nursing will oversee a level II NICU unit at Community Hospital South. The Manager of Nursing will be responsible for leading the team and supporting the following key responsibilities:

  • Achieve department goals and objectives by developing new partnerships between team members, physicians, and the network.
  • Align leadership practices with the values, mission, and vision of Community Health Network.
  • Provide excellent service while supporting clinical standards and patient satisfaction goals.
  • Build strong patient and physician relationships and support staff rounding.
  • Ensure staffing assignments reflect appropriate personnel utilization, scope of practice, competencies, patient needs, and level of care.
  • Use evidence-based practices to support the right patient mix, improve clinical outcomes, and increase patient satisfaction.

Applicants for this position should have:

  • 5 (five) or more years of RN experience.
  • 3 (three) or more years of management/leadership experience.
  • 3 (three) or more years of experience in a level II NICU or higher (strongly preferred).
  • A 2-year / associate degree Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
  • A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Certification required in relevant specialty or Nursing Administration within 3 (three) years of assuming the role.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Performance Improvement philosophy.
  • Ability to manage financial resources, including departmental budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, negotiate, be flexible, and problem-solve.
  • Operationalize network goals, objectives, and imperatives.
  • Understand the change process.
  • Demonstrate leadership competency in effectiveness standards.
