Facility: East Cooper Medical Center Location: Mount Pleasant, SC Department: L&D and NICU Position Type: Full Time- 40/ hour week Work Schedule: 8a-5p This Assistant Nurse Manager will oversee both our Labor & Delivery and NICU units. We are ideally seeking a candidate with a NICU background; L&D experience is a valuable bonus. The successful candidate should be comfortable occasionally working in L&D — stepping in as charge nurse or assisting with deliveries — as staffing needs arise. What You'll Do Partners with the Nurse Manager to create a shared vision with team members and acts consistently with Novant Health's Mission, Vision, Values, and Service StandardsProvides clinical and administrative leadership at the unit level, fostering a culture of professional accountability and a healthy work environmentCoordinates provision of patient care through delegation, problem solving, time management, and organizational skillsCollaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and improve processes surrounding patient careCoaches, mentors, and develops team members, supporting recruitment, retention, and succession planningMonitors unit operations daily, supports safe and effective staffing, and assists with departmental auditsPartners with the Nurse Manager on quality improvement initiatives, data trending, and patient/team satisfactionSupports timekeeping compliance, budget management, and resource allocation for the departmentSteps into a charge role or hands-on care as needed across L&D and NICU to meet patient care and staffing need What We're Looking For Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. BSN, preferred. Graduate Degree, preferred.Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred. Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred.Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications.Additional Skills (required): Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
