About the role

Manages the daily operations of the assigned department, unit, or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors departmental budgets and regulatory compliance.
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems, equipment, and supplies purchases; monitors usage, oversees proper working order, and stock supplies.
  • Assesses the quality of patient care delivered.
  • Evaluates needs of patients and families; provides patient and family-centered care.
  • Manages complaints and conflicts through to resolution.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, conflict management, scheduling, recruitment, labor utilization, retention, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Required). Additional info: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or enrolled in an accredited program.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (multiple accepted formats listed in posting).
  • Registered Nurse License (State of Florida) or Registered Nurse Compact License.
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience.
