About the role
Manager Nurse- Med Surg-Gastrointestinal(GI)
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates proficiency in all Quality leadership skills.
- Manages the care of a patient population and practices expert critical thinking skills when in the clinical setting.
- Affords 24-hour responsibility for a patient care unit and acts as liaison between patients, team members, physicians, other customers, and administration.
- Promotes evidence-based clinical care that exemplifies the pursuit of clinical excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of RN clinical experience, plus one of the following:
- 2 years of healthcare leadership experience,
- 1 year of nursing leadership experience with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and professional RN certification,
- 2 years of experience as a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner or Clinical Educator and 6 months as an Assistant Nurse Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field required.
- Licensure & Certifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred (unit-specific), Nursing specialty certification preferred.
