Manager NICU
About the role
Under the guidance and direction of the Director, you will provide nursing leadership for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and safety in assigned areas. You will collaborate with physicians and other departments to coordinate the needs of patients and their families, manage resources in a fiscally responsible manner, and support the mission and vision of the facility, division, and company. Your role includes assuring quality care through performance improvement processes and shaping decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing leadership for patient care and safety in the NICU.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with physicians and other departments.
- Coordinate the needs of patients and their families.
- Manage resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Support the mission and vision of Overland Park Regional Medical Center, HCA Midwest Health, and HCA Healthcare.
- Initiate and evaluate patient care using performance improvement processes to ensure quality care.
- Participate in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives to influence patient care and nursing practices.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current license as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- BLS certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified.
- Three years of current experience in a Level 3 or higher NICU.
- One year of management experience.
