About the role
As the Manager, Network Engineering, you will set goals and objectives for the team responsible for maintaining the robustness and efficiency of network infrastructure across the organization. You will lead network device configuration, maintenance, and upgrades, oversee network performance monitoring, and troubleshoot issues. This role involves implementing strategic initiatives to improve network performance, security, and scalability, maintaining vendor relationships, coordinating budget allocations, and facilitating the adoption of innovative technologies and industry best practices to sustain a cutting-edge network environment.
Responsibilities
- Leads the implementation of network strategies aligned with organizational goals to ensure the network infrastructure supports business objectives.
- Oversees the setup and configuration of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, virtual private networks, and software-defined networking to maintain optimal performance and security.
- Leads network performance monitoring and recommends continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implements and maintains robust network security measures to protect against threats and ensure data integrity.
- Maintains relationships with vendors and service providers, supporting contract negotiation and management to ensure best value and service quality.
- Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends, coordinating the adoption of innovation and modernization within the network infrastructure.
- Coordinates engagement with key internal and external stakeholders, understanding their needs and enabling effective communication to assure project alignment and success.
- Manages team members to achieve organizational goals by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, providing coaching, measuring progress, and supporting employee development in an inclusive team culture.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience leading a team of network engineers and/or implementing network strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and delivering network strategies and solutions across complex, global enterprise environments.
- Extensive background designing, implementing, and supporting LAN infrastructures for diverse locations—from small offices and plants to large corporate campuses and major manufacturing sites.
