Manager, MX Customs

About the role

As the Manager, Mexico Customs Operations, you will lead the daily execution and compliance of import and export customs activities between Mexico and international markets. This role is responsible for overseeing customs operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting cross-border efficiency, and developing a high-performing customs team within a fast-paced 3PL environment. You’ll partner closely with internal teams, customs brokers, and customers to deliver compliant, efficient, and customer-focused logistics solutions.

What Will You Do?

• Lead and develop the Mexico Customs team through coaching, training, and performance management.
• Oversee import/export clearance processes and ensure timely, accurate customs documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican customs regulations, including SAT and ANAM requirements.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for customs-related issues, audits, and government inquiries.
• Partner with operations, transportation, and warehouse teams to improve cross-border processes.
• Monitor KPIs, identify process improvements, and implement SOPs to reduce delays and compliance risks.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of customs, trade compliance, or cross-border logistics experience.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican customs regulations, import/export processes, and trade compliance.
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced logistics or 3PL environment.
• Ability to manage audits, resolve operational challenges, and drive process improvements.
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer relationship management skills.
• Comfortable using reporting tools, tracking KPIs, and managing operational performance.
